SapiroTech · Pothole Survey Vehicle
Every pothole. Measured. Mapped. Owned.
A car-mounted survey unit finds potholes, measures their depth in 3D, and ties each one to the contractor still liable for the road.
How it works
How it works
01 · Survey
Drive the route. The unit does the looking.
Three cameras cover the carriageway and both kerbs while the on-board AI flags potholes live. Each pothole is tracked across frames, so it counts once — not once per frame.
The survey unit
One calibrated kit.
Fits a normal car.
Every survey car carries the same sensors in the same places, so every survey is comparable. Tap a part to see what it does.

The film
Seventy seconds, start to finish.
From the survey car to the repair list — the whole system in one short film, with narration and captions.
In the car
The operator stays in charge.
Signed in, on route
Each operator signs in with a personal code and sees the route they were assigned.
A person decides
The AI flags; the operator confirms or rejects each detection while it is fresh.
Evidence at source
Every confirmed pothole is saved with its photo, location, time and jolt reading.

Design screens · sample data
In the office
Plan, review, publish.
The admin platform turns a day of driving into approved, evidence-backed records — and keeps a record of who did what.

Design screens · illustrative sample data
Route planning
Pick A and B; the route is built from registered road segments.
Operator codes
Personal sign-in codes; a route goes to one unit and one operator.
Per-segment approval
Approve or send back each road segment. Only approved data goes public.
Evidence with metadata
Photo with GPS, time and accelerometer reading embedded, plus a visible stamp.
Append-only audit log
Every assignment, approval and change is recorded and cannot be edited.
Public API
Approved potholes as open data for citizens, media and other departments.
For citizens
A public map of approved potholes.
Only data an official has approved goes public. Clusters show where problems concentrate; zoom in for each pothole and its severity.
Severity: low 13–25 mm · medium 25–50 mm · high over 50 mm (ASTM D6433 pothole depth bands).
Why it matters
Proof, not complaints.
Every pothole has a photo, a location and a measured depth.
The right party repairs it.
Repairs go to the contractor who is still liable for the road.
Repairs are checked.
Roads get re-surveyed, so a repair is verified, not assumed.
FAQ
Questions we get asked.
Daylight is the design point. Night surveys need extra lighting on the vehicle, and we will say what that changes once it is tested. In rain, standing water hides a pothole’s true depth, so water-filled potholes are flagged “water suspected” and are never reported as shallow.
